I was able to snag a 150 off code from motorola today for the off contract moto X. Knocks it down to 400, seeing that Ive destroyed my current Optimus G I think Im going to pull the trigger. Really like the customizations and the the slight software tweaks in an otherwise vanilla kitkat experience seem to be pretty rad. Anyone around here have a Moto X ? If so whatcha think?

After having two Motorola devices, I will never buy another one. I really don't like all the extra crap they put on it. If you can get it with just vanilla Kit Kat, then yeah, I might consider it. But I've always had a ton of small problems with Motorola. |

I was super Anti-moto prior to the google buyout , I hated everything they did with the software and their support for it was shit to be nice about it. These two new motos , the G and X , more google than moto.

Hopefully, being a Google company, they'll maintain support for devices for longer than 6 months. That was really my biggest complaint. |

My understanding is the X is the second best android phone you can buy right now (if you consider the Nexus 5 the best)

Pulled the trigger on the Moto X , should be in my hands next week. Got a 10 dollar Goog Play gift card too  And while I wait , I went ahead and loaded 4.4 onto my work Gnex. Shit is real nice so far, really hoping for better battery life over the previous 4.1 and 4.2.2. lord knows it cant be worse than that. |

Of course the radios on this device are such shit if youre anywhere without a signal the battery just gets its shit pushed in. Otherwise its pretty fucking awesome. maybe Ill try to find an extended batt, surely theyre cheap by now |

Got my moto x on Friday , after using it all weekend I gotta say this thing is tops. Feels great in the hand , external speaker is easily the best Ive had on any phone, loud , clear and free of distorsion. Call quality on my end , again , is tops. Battery life is fine , moderate-heavy use I made it 100% through my days , and still had over 40% left . Now this is purely streaming music , web and facebook action with some light gaming. Voice controls own faces , Moto Assist is handy as hell , can tell when youre driving, read your texts and reply automatically with a preset message if you want. All in all ,its a very awesome device with built in features leaps and bounds better than the app equivalents .
