yes yes people are playing Marvel, blah blah. Let's all go back to the grandaddy of them all and play some Diablo!
Patch 2.0.1 is finally out, Real Money Auction House shuts down March 18th, and the Reaper of Souls Expansion hits March 25th for 40 bones. After looking into things I'm pretty excited as it's a great excuse to get back into Diablo and looks to fix a lot of problems the base game had.

New Patch Features:
Paragon 2.0 - Paragon levels are account wide instead of character specific. Each paragon level gives you a point to place in an attribute category.
Loot 2.0 - Loot is receiving a massive overhaul. Stat rolls on items are being tightened (75-100 vs 1-100) to make more items potentially good for you. Legendaries are receiving unique, build changing attributes. A new Smart Drop system is implemented to make more items that drop relevant to the class you are playing. Drop rates have been scaled back (quality over quantity) to stop the flood of mostly-useless items. Legendaries are also Bind on Account, but can be traded to friends who are within the same game as you when the item drops. There is a 2 hour time limit for the item to be traded, after which it is bound to you. Crafting has also been both simplified and expanded.
Clans and Communities - There are two new ways to interact with other players. You can be a part of a clan, which has a specific clan chat and clan notifications. You can only be a part of one clan at a time, and each clan has a cap of 120 members. You can also be a part of as many communities as you want, which are basically custom chat communities that have no member limit.
Difficulty Changes - The old Difficulty system has been thrown out, and now has been replaced by a new system. Monsters in game will constantly scale with your level. On top of that, you can adjust the difficulty by choosing the difficulty mode, ranging from Normal to Torment 6, for increased experience and rewards.
Reworked Skills - In line with the new items and other game changes, many skills have been reworked. Many have gained an elemental damage type and others have been scaled up or changed so that all the runes of each skill are a lot more viable than before.

Expansion Changes:
Enchanting - Through the Mystic you are able to re-roll one stat on an item to a potentially different stat. You can always pick the original stat if the other options presented are worse.
Transmogrification - Also through the Mystic, you can change the appearance of your items to that of others, similar to how it is done in World of Warcraft. Rare item skins are unlocked as the Mystic is leveled up. Legendary item skills are unlocked when you identify the Legendary.
Adventure Mode - This is a new mode, separate from Campaign mode, that allows players to freely travel around the world, killing whatever monsters they want. Bounties are optional side-quests that grant bonus rewards for completing them. Nephalem Rifts are completely randomized dungeons with random enemies and random effects that spawn a random boss at the end, creating a unique experience and the chance for some epic loot!
Act V and Crusader - With Reaper of Souls, you get access to Westmarch, Act V, and a new class, the Crusader. The Crusader is very versatile and can be either a ranged class, dealing damage from afar, or tankier class, fighting directly through hordes of monsters.
Other Smaller things - New Hellfire ring and Uber Diablo fight, Gambling system, one new active skill and three new passive skills for all the classes, etc.

I believe ALG plans on setting up for Clan for anybody interested and I know a few Arcadians are planning to pick up the expansion. With the patch out and the expansion coming soon now's the perfect time to play through the base game again!
Sadly Blizzard took Facebook friends list integration out of the game due to reasons and at some point in the past year my Battle.net account was hacked and my friends list was wiped, blizz support doesn't have the ability to bring that back so I figure we should probably do a Battletag list again since that was lost away on the previous forum, so please post them!
