The origin of Kid Flash in Teen Titans was pretty interesting. I've been reading Superior Foes of Spider-man and really liking it. I'm actually into a ton of Marvel stuff right now. Hulk, Daredevil, Hawkeye, etc. Are they gonna relaunch Hawkeye at $3.99 as well? So many re-launches. Ughhhhhhhhhh

What's the story with the Ultimate universe and the Cataclysm event? Somebody told me the Ultimate universe was going away? Say it ain't so!
Also, did we ever find out who Miles Morales is in the 616 universe as hinted in the Spider-Men mini-series?

Yeah its just weird. I'm not really into Green Lantern, I can only read so much Batman, Justice League is blehhh, the current mega-event is blehh. I think the DC books I read are pretty amazing, but a lot of the stuff I'm just not into. Even Justice Society with Jay Garrick Flash was so continuity ridden that I just didn't care.
On the other hand Daredevil is amazing and there are a lot of reboots coming in the next few months for Marvel which means good jumping on. Perhaps it is just because of that I feel Marvel-oriented right now. I am trying Nightwang and Superman Unchained. I feel like a race traitor

I have to admit I'm burning out on comics a bit lately too. I read a lot of stuff, but there's maybe 4 books I really look forward to every month (Flash, Batman, Invincible, Ultimate Spider-Man). The rest is just... there. I'm kind of detaching from DC on the whole because they're getting back into mega-events and I just don't want to do that anymore. I'm tired of everything being 12 month epics and "years in the making".
Though, I think maybe my largest issue is I don't read comics like I used to. I used to basically read them every week when they came out. These days I'm lucky if I can read a stack every month and a half or so. A lot of books I crack open and I can't even remember what happened in the previous issue, so I'm lost from the get go. I think I'm going to switch to trades for a lot of stuff, or just skip it altogether.
On the upside, Injustice is starting up Year Two, and that was, surprisingly, a pretty fun read last year.

Maybe I should get back into Spider-Man. As dumb as Spider-Ock sounded, all I hear is praise about it. Been feeling a little like I might be missing a gem there.

Also GL rebirth is years old, not even canon anymore huh is the reason you don't like DC because you only read current stuff? You're doing things wrong dude... Read great stories because they are great stories, not because they are coming out monthly. Plus you get the bonus of reading a complete story on your own time at your own convenience. If you are up for reading older stuff I can give you TONS of recommendations for Batman/Superman/Green Lantern. Also I can't tell if your vertigo comment is a joke or if you are really just ignorant. Kinda leading towards the latter. FYI, Fables is literally the best ongoing comic that exists today so yes vertigo still exists, and is still owned by DC, and has an amazing back catalogue of great stories if you are up for reading comics that have nothing to do with superheroes.

love when hardtarget tries to give comic advice Maybe I should get back into Spider-Man. As dumb as Spider-Ock sounded, all I hear is praise about it. Been feeling a little like I might be missing a gem there. Besides being a really fun book, it's a pretty interesting character look at Spider-Man/Peter Parker. As long as it sticks the landing, it will be a really great 31 issue self contained spider-man "epic/story line". The book gets actullay better post issue 9 (where he gets rid of Ghost Peter and becomes truly Spider-Man his way)

I do read current comics, that is the fun part of 'comics'. Re: vertigo yeah thats cool, I am looking more for Superhero comics. I have plenty of nitty-gritty alt indie comics on my pull list.

What is the average life of a current comic book universe between reboots? like a summer it seems like. It's why i don't scamper to read current stuff all that much and prefer just good stories that happen to take place in those events.

What is the average life of a current comic book universe between reboots? Reboots? with DC probably every 10 years or so, with Marvel? I'm not sure if they've done a straight reboot yet (I mean technically the heroes reborn stuff in the nineties could count) But relaunches (just new number ones, same old continuity marvel does every couple of years now it seems like), While DC only does them when they do their reboots usually.

(Start of Earth-1, Golden Age characters to Earth-2) -> 1985 (Crisis on Infinite Earths) -> 1994 (Zero Hour) -> 2011 (Flashpoint) Marvel's continuity has been a little more fluid and it seems like they just sprinkle retcons in as time goes on. They do, however, relaunch books fairly frequently.
