So I'm looking at building a PC, where basically the only things I am not buying are a mouse and headset. here is what I'm currently looking at, and I'm looking at best bang for buck while staying in the mid-high performance area: CPU - Intel Core i5-4670KMobo - MSI Z87-GD65Graphics - Geforce GTX 770HDD - WD BLACK SERIES WD1003FZEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5 Are those good for my goal? What would I need to support those in terms of: RAM - 16GB DDR3? Only 8GB? Do I need more than 1600mhz clock speed? (Where do the diminishing returns start is basically my question) PSU/Case/Cooling - I was looking at this bad boy www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119260 but mostly because it has a handle and sometimes I do PC game not at my house. Am I missing anything else? I hear Gunnar Optics are extremely important for interpreting my FPS and my Pixels in the most efficient manner.

I'm gonna suggest you do Micro-ATX or Mini-ITX as opposed to full size. It'll still fit a regular sized graphics card, etc, but much smaller mobo and if you are only plugging in a drive or two (I'd suggest a SSD boot drive in addition to a big storage drive) it'll be way more portable of a machine cause you can get a way smaller case edit: 2 great cases: Mini-ITX - www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139033Micro-ATX - www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139020Although it's bigger I'd probably recommend Micro-ATX over Mini, much more selection of parts and better selection. I'll probably never build a full size ATX system again.

I played X-Com on the PS Triple and liked it, but quit when I died, basically.
Ho Lee Shite, it is so much better on the PC (thanks Summer sale!)
