Post things about your house is stealing all your money!
I replaced the last shitty window in my house over the weekend. It was an old 2 pane with no insulation, now it's a double pane insulated that doesn't look like shit.
I've also started having sand and other grit coming through my taps which I think/hope is just buildup in my water tank. Going to try blasting it out through the nearest tap this afternoon, otherwise I'll be installing a water filter on the line to catch it all. If neither of those work I guess it's down to something being wrong with the well and I'll have to get someone to come and fix it, could cost anywhere from $500-5000 if the cheap fixes don't work.

Can't you just drain your water tank/hot water heater? If you've got sediment in the tank, that would be the best place to remove it. Ours had a drain spigot at the bottom for just such a reason.

The tank does have an output, I've been having to drain it every 6 months or so because it gets waterlogged(it's like 15+ years old). There is no drain on the bottom though, just the water output so I have to try getting it to drain out through the water pressure. I do have another newer tank I'd like to install but the basement needs some work first as I would like to move it to a new location, it also has a different setup, old is a 1 input, 1 output while the new is a single input/output so it needs a bit more work.

Swapping out the water tank for the newer one this weekend most likely. Spent about 90 minutes getting as much sand out but there is still some in there which comes out when the pump turns on and clogs anything with a filter on it. Should only cost me $40 or so in pipe fittings but it's a straight forward fix.
